HI I'm 46 and when I did ultrasound in November they found 3 myom size 5x6 cm each. I saw and felt a small pingpong sized growth on my uterus. Today my uterus feels like a melon. I have a regular gynecologist but would like to see someone specialized in uterine fibroid before I make a decision on hysterectomy - where can I find a specialist? I live in Nahariya but location is less of an issue. Thanks

Surgery might be a solution, but not necessarily the only solution. You have to have a detailed report of the ultrasound scan (we are not in the the era of pingpong and melons, and consults a specialist who will give you detailed options of treatment. symptoms, pace of growth, location and size are part of the decision making process.

sorry for not being clear, of course I have had ultrasound examinations and knows the size of the melon, currently 15 cm with fluid as to 3 ping pong of 5 cm each. So far so good, however, after ultrasounds I have no idea of where to go. As an immigrant I struggle to find my way through the medical system. My gynecologist is sweet but admits not to have enough experience of myoma and refered to another Dr. This one says anyone talking about alternatives to abdominal hysterectomy is just talking and perhaps he is correct but I have a need for more information before a surgery. I need someone to explain the findings from the ultradounds as well as a walk through of what a hysterectomy is. I have asked at Maccabi but they could not advice of any specialized Dr or center. I was thetefore hoping for your help. Should this be handled by the regular gynecologist or where should I turn? Thanks
